Ousted postmaster cites political pressure amid reform move
The Oklahoma A and M College area is cited as the setting where the court clerk has faced recall after an automobile crash. Reed, a civil service veteran since 1939, contends his removal stems from politics. He notes service in the army and lengthy tenure as postmaster, and offers support to the incoming appointee. A congressional complaint accuses Reed of pernicious political activity tied to the 1846 Democratic primary, with a federal commission review following last December hearings.
