Cameron University officials conduct a long range study as part of a North Central Association review. The project surveys graduates, libraries, financial aid, and program goals, with Dr. Richard Murray leading and Dr. G Phillip Johnson as consultant. If graduate programs are advised, implementation would take three to five years.

Governor Boren Signs Bill For Sheriff Election Vote
Gov David Boren signed a bill allowing Comanche County voters this year to elect a replacement for Sheriff Coy Rogers who is awaiting an appointment as U S marshal. The measure also applies to mid term vacancies statewide with appointments pending until the next regular election.

Charlie Cooper, once editor of The Temple Tribune and later a campaign press secretary for Oklahoma AG Larry Derryberry, was fired March 17.
