Goodyear Blimp to Arrive for Lawton Plant Groundbreaking

The Goodyear blimp will arrive at Lawton Municipal Airport at 6 p.m. Saturday as part of promotion for the new radial tire plant in West Lawton. Governor David Boren and Goodyear President John H. Gerstenmaier head a list of dignitaries for the groundbreaking set for 4 p.m. Tuesday. The facility, on a 500 acre site west of Goodyear Boulevard, aims to employ 1,400 at full production and is expected to be complete by summer 1978.
