Three Year Old Killed By Truck South Of Lawton
Wanda Rose Cornwell a 3 year old Lawton girl was struck and killed by an unloaded lumber truck about 11 10 am while crossing highway 277 near her brothers. Witness Rex White and other workers watched in horror as the child ran toward the family mail box just moments before the collision. Driver Redmond Nichols 42 said he did not see the child until stopping the truck. Wanda Rose died at Southwestern Hospital. Nichols drove about 20 to 26 mph. no charges were filed.
