FDA to Require Health Warnings on Birth Control Pills
Washington AP report shows Food and Drug Commissioner Donald Kennedy advising new warnings on oral contraceptives. He would even recommend an alternative method to his own family. The FDA will require brochures with risks for all pills dispensed after April 3, including smoking risks for women over 35. Planned Parenthood counters there is no one method for all, noting broad contraceptive options and long study history.
