Don Thompson led five candidates in the annual school election to win the seat vacated by Don McBride. Thompson received 93 votes to 73 for Ronnie Jackson, 69 for Paul West, 27 for Dawson Berry, and 7 for Ross Thomas Lucas Jr. All millage levies were approved.

Three Injured As Fort Sill Ambulance Crashes
A Fort Sill ambulance on an emergency run collided with a van at Sheridan and Lincoln, injuring three people none of whom were critically hurt. The crash involved Virgil Richard Barton 29 and Ronald William Crawford 20, both Fort Sill, and passenger Roy Brown 31 of Fletcher, all taken to Reynolds Army Hospital.
