McAlester Studies Finance Plan For Fertilizer Plant
An open meeting of the McAlester Chamber of Commerce committees on commerce and agriculture will be held tonight to discuss financing a $200,000 fertilizer plant for eastern Oklahoma. The plant would have an annual capacity of 20 000 tons and is sponsored by the Consumers Cooperative Association of Kansas City Missouri. A bolt from an electrical storm struck the city at about 8 30 p m destroying five rooms of a three room garage apartment. Lt Stanley A Sulak who was to leave for overseas was not home. Neighbors and downstairs residents helped as crews from stations 3 and central fought the blaze for about two hours causing 1500 damage to the kitchen and living room. No injuries were reported.
