In Goshen Indiana Harvard University students were killed and others injured when a truck driven by Fred Gill crossed into the Stevenson car on U S 20 ten miles northeast of the city. John Stevenson 19 was hospitalized with a broken knee cap and injuries. Two Harvard classmates William S North III and William C Boyden Jr died. Another classmate James Gilligan 19 was injured.
