Childrens Hospital uses illustrated explanations to ease fear of X rays
At Boston Children’s Hospital, Miss Elizabeth Haas and Donald Solomon created simple illustrated explanations for X-ray exams aimed at kids aged three to 14. The brightly colored sheets describe where the exam happens who is involved and what occurs step by step. Technologists check comprehension with the child before the procedure and answer questions. The technique is described as positive, reducing anxiety and making children feel recognized by staff.
