Edsel harvest on Willamette Valley farm shocks locals
Phil Sperling and his wife Delia have gathered about 60 Edsel cars on their 3000 acre Willamette Valley farm from 1958 to 1960 models. They also own 1958 and 1959 Mercuries and other Ford cars with interchangeable parts. The couple started collecting in 1965 after buying their first Edsel for 325 dollars, aiming to restore about 20 and cannibalize the rest for parts. They describe the cars as handsome despite rust, weeds, and vines overrunning the vehicles.
