The general obituary was marked by solemn propriety with notable figures in attendance. President Cleveland, James G Blaine, John A Logan, and former President Rutherford B Hayes joined other dignitaries in paying respects.
Ex President Arthur's funeral proceeded with notable attendees including President Cleveland James G Blane John A Logan and Benjamin Butler. Remains were transported to Albany for burial after services at a church with no public viewing. The executive departments closed in mourning as emissaries placed emblems on public buildings.
A morning cyclone struck Girard at 3 30 injuring many residents and demolishing small homes while larger structures withstood the shock. Damage totaled under 24600 with several injuries including John W Herman and Mat tie Gooding. no fatalities reported. In Pleasanton a late morning cyclone tore a brick building, unroofing the block and damaging fronts with minor injuries to S L Rhodes and others.
A deranged man named Nathan Schuler Reodout approached President Cleveland at the New York Central depot claiming to be harmless and a friend. He handed a card to a reporter and tried to reach the carriage, prompting officers to intervene as Cleveland and his party proceeded to the Fifth Avenue hotel before departing for Washington.
In Estonia Kansas on November 22 L T D Collier, son of Rev. Robt. L. Collier of Kansas City, was killed at the Bundrell residence after a confrontation with J A Yarborough. Yarborough, who had been drinking and threatened to shoot, shot Collier at close range and fled to jail.
Local and Glen Cove authorities investigated the abandoned schooner Long Island after it was found near Sea Cliff with blood aboard. Captain Thomas Carpenter of Glen Cove reportedly disappeared after setting sail from New York and was believed murdered. First mate Henry Frank was arrested but denied being aboard the vessel.
An attempt at mass poisoning occurred in Sprisortzty on November 22 as tea laced with rough on rats sickened thirteen of fourteen people at a family dinner. L S Perkins, superintendent of Spriegfeldsilk Mills, was among the attendees. Authorities suspect a discharged mill worker planned the act. all will recover.
Bohres, juror in the Surratt conspiracy case, died this morning. He was the last surviving member of the original twelve jurors who sat the trial in the Surratt case for the assassination plot against the President. The elderly jurist was noted as the oldest inhabitant in the community.
H M Hoxie first vice president and general manager of the Gould Southwestern railroad system dies in New York after a long illness. Embalmed body to be sent to Des Moines for funeral services Saturday. He planned to be buried beside his son Herbert M Hoxie in Des Moines. Resolutions of sympathy issued by Union Pacific railway officers and local lodges. Also reports a court ruling denying an injunction to restrain canvassing of an amendment related to convict labor.

The Daily News reports a supersedeas filing in Spies and Parsons case with 8000 pages of records examined by Justice Scott.
Reports from Seneca County describe a female burglar who seizes control of homes when children are alone, avoiding adults on the streets. Neighbors plan to lynch the first man accused, suspecting a disguise for the crime. In New York, Arthur's will likely probate, with about 250000 in estate.
