New York November 29 Wm Kurt jumped from the Brooklyn Bridge today. He was found frothing at the mouth and later said he wished he was dead. He suffered a shock concussion but is expected to recover after hospitalization. A separate report notes a large fire in Dodge City Kansas destroying several business houses and residences with heavy losses.
A late November fire in Duper City Kansas swept through the McCarthy opera house block, destroying several dealers and residences. A. N. Ramseyer’s grocery store suffered about 2000 dollars in stock and building loss, with most stock unsaved. Total damages estimated near 10000 dollars, insurance light as firefighters tore down small structures to control the blaze.
Henry M. Stanley arrives in New York to lecture on Africa praising Congo free state resources and a Belgian railway plan from 110 miles above the Congo mouth for 235 miles toward Stanley Pool. He argues the railway would connect the upper Congo with world markets and bring vast benefits for the white man, while noting natives as peaceful and honorable.
A Missouri Pacific passenger train collides with a freight near Greenwood Missouri, wrecking both engines. Postal clerk Elijah Magoffin is killed and F H Beebe is in flying condition. Engineers and firemen jump to safety. passengers unharmed. The operator’s error caused the crash. track cleared this afternoon.
Curiaco Nov 27. Former Irish National League president Alex Sullivan said coercion attempts will fail, predicting strong English sympathy for Ireland due to Gladstone's advocacy. He argued English masses now back the Irish case more than ever, making success unlikely for the coercive plan.

The preliminary hearing of William Bybee for the killing of B W Greenman at Laddonia near Mexico Missouri ended with a verdict of murder. Bybee is committed to jail without bail pending grand jury action scheduled for January. Attorney J McCrimble will seek bail before Judge Robertson at the circuit court special term.
Crathanauca Tennessee November 30 An assembly of special reports from twelve southern states covers the quarter ending Sept 1. It lists new organizations in 12 states with actual work begun on many. The tally includes 25 blast furnaces 65 railroad companies 131 wood working establishments 181 electric light companies 73 foundries and mills 79 mining and smelting firms and 36 flour mills.
Boston November 30 Republicans tonight nominated Thomas N. Hart for mayor at the party meeting held in the city.
A mixed passenger train en route west collided with an east bound freight between Parker and Lennox near Curcaco. Both locomotives were total wrecks and the engineers and firemen died instantly. No passengers were hurt. The G A R executive committee met in St. Louis to arrange rates for the National Encampment next fall.
The national council of administration of the Grand Army of the Republic will hold an evening meeting to discuss travel rates for the national encampment in St. Louis next fall. A conference with railroad officials follows, after which the committee will proceed to St. Louis for preliminary encampment arrangements.
Curiaco November 30 reports George J. Brine and John G. Beasley, members of the board of trade committee, returned from Washington after arguing for an Indian supply station in Chicago. General Upshaw appeared receptive but warned that receiving written arguments from other cities could hurt Chicago by aiding opponents to refute their case. Overall, Chicago’s chances are not bright. Kansas City and St. Louis are in contention, with New York to be heard tomorrow and a decision likely by Saturday.
Privately issued by Knights of Labor officers a circular printed with signature and seal claims lockouts aim to destroy the order and urges members to stay loyal. It orders a 25 cent special defence assessment on all locals to be paid to the general secretary by February 20, 1887.
In United States circuit court Brass sued Alice E. Guffey for 50000 damages for breach of promise. Jury returned a verdict for the defendant. Kansas City reports heightened railroad activity with record freight traffic and expanded switching crews on six lines.
Aid for railroads carried by Dickinson County voters on November 30 in Abilene Kas with about a one thousand majority. Bonds totaling 776000 will support the Chicago Kansas Western Santa Fe and Chicago St Joseph Fort Worth lines amid widespread local rejoicing.
Denver November 30 The News reports Carter Cotton of Fort Collins manager of the North Pordre land and canal company has disappeared leaving heavy debts. He reportedly locked creditors in his office meeting a week ago and fled town. Indebtedness estimated at 300000 dollars, partly secured.
Directors of the Missouri Pacific Railway Company met and appointed 8. H. Clarke, formerly manager of the Union Pacific Railway, as first vice president to succeed the late H. M. Hoxie. The change was announced from Hoxies Successor in New York on November 27.

Ottawa dispatch reports General Manager Van Home of the Canadian Pacific railroad has arranged with the Boston and Lowell railroad to use Boston as the main eastern terminus. Papers to be signed early next week outline a Montreal to Newport Vermont link via the Southwestern road to Woodsville over the Lowell line.

The jury returned a verdict at 10 pm finding Carl Mussfeldt Sohn Runge and August Fults guilty while six other prisoners with minor roles were acquitted.
Two leading coal operators in Cutcaco said they could not believe a coal combination as reported from New York could be formed. They were interviewed this morning and expressed skepticism about the feasibility of such a merger or alliance in the industry.
Louisvil le Kentucky reports Albert Champion of Livingston county took his former neighbor John Mitchell s horse and wife. They traveled by horseback toward Illinois as Mitchell pursues them vigorously.

Nathan Frank will contest Mr. Glover’s seat in Congress in Lincoln, Nebraska, with the date noted as November 30.
Hon John M Glover reached St Louis from Washington and was served with Nathan Franks contest against his seat in the fiftieth Congress Franks petition asserts he won by 500 votes but cites frauds including failure to reinstate legal voters on registration lists counting out legal votes and counting illegal ballots cast for Glover The district returns showed a Glover lead of 1000 votes
R T Head president International Range Association writes to President Cleveland urging Congress to provide for prevention and suppression of pleuro pneumonia to protect open ranges and investments. He highlights pooling concerns and endorses the Reagan interstate commerce bill.
Mrs. John Donnelley of Willard area died after a shotgun she was moving from under a bed discharged, striking her legs above the knees. She was the daughter of the late Judge John R. Earnest, who died when struck by a falling tree years earlier.
David Harris shot his fifth wife and then himself in front of their children at the supper table. Both are fatally wounded. The couple had a history of unhappiness, and the incident occurred this evening in Indianapolis.

St Louis market ledger lists cash oats rye and barrow prices with mixed bids and bids. Theatre of numbers shows receipts for cattle hogs and poultry and notes market firmness with ranges for choice native steers and packing pork and lard quoted.
