Bell’s historic 1850s bell returns to Lawrence High
Mike Norris notes the bell made in Boston in the 1850s sailed by boat then river routes and endured a shipwreck before 1890 sale to the Lawrence school. After years in a storage space and home during construction, it is now sealed behind glass in a wall between the auditorium and a hallway, still notably loud after a test chime.
