Kansas Agencies Asked to Assess Efficiency
The Kansas Division of Budget asked seven state agencies to study operating efficiency and potential duplicate programs. Results are due in early October, with officials stressing the move is not tied to a $238 million 2016 shortfall. Governor spokeswomen say growth will cover expenses, though experts doubt sufficient growth exists. Agencies include Aging and Disability Services, Health and Environment, Transportation, Children and Families, Commerce, Revenue, and Wildlife Parks and Tourism.
