Faith at Kansas Statehouse centers on prayer
At the Kansas Statehouse faith moves into focus as Capitol Connection leader Topeka chaplain Dave DePue supports a campaign to place religion at the forefront. A weekly prayer breakfast and noon Bible study involve lawmakers and Gov. Brownback staff, with broader efforts by the Upper Room Committee and ongoing talks about building a chapel. The movement, tied to national Capitol Connection goals, emphasizes civility and unity while navigating concerns about church state lines and security at state government activities.
