Lawrence High preparing depth tests for Week 4 showdown
Lawrence High Lions, at 2-1, juggle four injured starters as they head to Shawnee Mission North at 7 pm. Senior Jordan Brown leads a reshuffled backfield while senior Cole Cummins and Nick Long step into new spots on defense and offensive line. Coach Dirk Wedd notes thin depth but optimism about young players stepping up, and Brad Strauss aims to exploit a strong passing attack with Will Thompson, Drake Hofer, Erick Mayo, and Josh Seybert as targets. SM North sits 0-3 after losses, and LHS eyes a shutout on defense against a 19-point-per-game Indians squad.
