KU aerospace students win multiple AIAA contests
A KU team of ten designers claimed first place in the Advanced regional jet contest with two jets aimed at speed and lower costs. Separate teams earned second and third in missile design, while undergraduates won first in the Vertical Flight Society quadcopter competition. Skyblazer’s wing and engine layout trims takeoff space, boosting speed and fuel efficiency, sparking excitement about faster global travel and heightened global connectivity.
