Lecompton seeks grants for water tower upgrade in town
Lecompton plans a new 250000 gallon water tower to replace a 300 block Clark Street tank. Mayor Roy Paslay says grants of 378250 each are sought from the Kansas Department of Commerce and USDA Rural Development, with a public hearing set for October 15 at City Hall. The project aims to improve fire protection, water pressure, and drinking water while enabling future growth. a 2009 completion is targeted if funding succeeds.

Three men bound for trial in residential robbery case

Holmes 31 Lansing on aggravated robbery aggravated burglary and obstruction of justice. The Aug 1 Ohio Street residence robbery left one man battered but untreated. Proceedings set for Feb 19.

Machinists OK new Cessna contract to avoid strike
