Erie flood shadows town's vote on $21.9 million school bond
Erie Kansas voters faced a pivotal decision on a 21.9 million bond to build a new high school, relocate the elementary school, and improve a nearby campus. Officials link the bond to a planned environmentally friendly housing development after June flood devastation. Supporters say the projects are essential to the town's survival and growth, while opponents worry about tax burdens on a small district.
