Pleasant Grove Picnic and Rain Marks Turbulent Day
After a three day dry spell a new heavy shower hit Pleasant Grove beginning yesterday afternoon and lasting into night. A small turnout attended the Farmers Union picnic with Mr. and Mrs. Boehle and others. Traffic on Pleasant Grove hill stalled several cars, a broken axle required a replacement part, and locals aided in clearing the jam. Visitors and residents listed include the Hibners, Sanders, Williams, Flory, Avery Hibner, and others, with trips to Lawrence and Baldwin noted and a WCT convention attendance cited.
