Chicago, Sept. 13. A fast daily coast to coast air mail service was opened today when planes left five cities for points across the continent. One plane will depart each morning for New York with mail from Francisco for New York. Another runs Cheyenne to Salt Lake to San Francisco. The Escondido Times Advocate notes Escondido’s Grand Old Man David M. Eddy turned 102 on August 27 with a crowd of several hundred attending.
