Ethiopian Emperor rejects Geneva peace plans amid Italian troop moves
Addis Ababa Sept. 9 Ethiopian government says telegrams from the northern frontier show Italian troop movements on the Ethiopian and Eritrean border signaling an early offensive. Emperor Haile Selassie rejects all Geneva settlement formulas including tri party mandates and Italian protectorate. He will fight rather than accept terms and may allow foreign experts while denying Italian experts and any annexation of Eritrea or Italian Somaliland. The plan envisages possible Ogaden sale and limited infra projects with the League nominating advisers, but Ethiopia reserves reseal rights.
