Rioting Teens Drive Out 10000 At Atlantic Resort

At Hampton Beach New Hampshire a riot involving about 10000 youths left 20 injured and more than 100 arrested. Peter Zamboni 16 Everett Massachusetts was hurt by birdshot likely losing an eye. Police used tear gas billy clubs and shotguns to eject the crowd.

Teen Aggression Surges on Oregon Coast Rioting Ends

Seaside Oregon saw about 700 youths clash with police after dark on Sunday. Riot squads faced rocks and clubs as six rioters led a charge with a flaming log toward Seaside’s main street. Police and National Guardsmen patrolled overnight with 80 youths arrested. Businesses reported up to 500000 dollars in lost weekend trade.

Local Man Dead of Injuries In Ottawa Wreck

The lone survivor, David Brown Jr., 20, died Sunday afternoon in Ransom Memorial Hospital after a car carrying four men plunged 16 feet, striking an elm. Three others, Ronnie Brown 19 Milton Brown and Jessie Jackson Jr. 24, died at the scene. Emory Peterson Jr. 19 died later. Funeral plans are with Bowser Lee Funeral Home. Brown was a lifelong Lawrence resident and part time employee.

School Unity Vote In Douglas County Set For Tuesday

Douglas County residents on Tuesday will vote yes or no on a one unit school unification plan proposed by the County School Unification Planning Board. Law rence residents vote as one unit while other townships form a second unit. both must approve. Polling places open 8 am to 6 pm in townships and 7 am to 7 pm in Lawrence.
