Berger Checks Costs of Greeley City Government
A. W. Berger, chair of the Greeley city council Ways and Means Committee, returned after two weeks in Colorado. He found Greeley operates at less expense than Lawrence due to lack of a board of health and water purification costs, despite its smaller population. He noted Lawrence’s larger school enrollment and health facilities, including Haskell, and mentioned the visit to Redfeather Lake and family in McPherson, Kansas. The report ends with a separate note from Baton Rouge: Louisiana women teachers may not be discharged for marrying.
