Phyllis Schlafly, Conservative Icon, Dies at 92

Phyllis Schlafly, founder of the Eagle Forum and a pivotal anti ERA activist, died at age 92 at her St. Louis home. Her 1964 book A Choice Not an Echo propelled a conservative shift, and she led campaigns opposing gender equality amendments while shaping the modern right. The Eagle Forum, with about 80,000 members, remains active under her legacy. The Trump campaign praised her influence on American conservatives.

Legacies of War chairman Titus Peachey urges a 10 year 25 million dollar annual U.S. commitment for mine clearance and victim support in Laos. Since 1964 to 1973 bombing left 80 million cluster bombs and most remain uncleared, killing or injuring over 20,000. The trip could deepen economic ties and regional influence with ASEAN and counter China, while continuing U.S. pivot to Asia.
