Supreme Court Abortion Case Gets Fast-Track Move
The Supreme Court may accelerate review of a Kansas abortion law. Attorney General Der Ek Schmidt welcomed the pace while Center for Reproductive Rights officials expressed mixed hopes. Justices issued a two paragraph order with dissent by Beier Rosen and Stegall. The measure bans dismemberment abortion and uses tools to remove a fetus in pieces. Shawnee County Judge Larry Hendricks had blocked the law previously.
