Alameda Cal Sept 1 AP F Myrtten Johnson Oakland aviator today claimed to be the first person ever to refuel an airplane from an automobile. The feat was performed here yesterday. Johnsons plane has a 30 horsepower motor with top speed 55 mph and can drone at 25 mph. The automobile with Ray Trask on the refueling jab made contact on its third attempt. A Spencer Sparks UC tract man tried to refuel by running underneath and holding a gasoline can up to a hook lowered from the aircraft but failed to connect.

Crash on Highway Near Tonganoxie Injures Naval Cadet
Albert Coxe a 20 year old Naval Academy student from Annapolis was badly hurt when his Ford struck a Chevrolet driven by Laurence Watkins of Kansas City Kansas three miles east of Tonganoxie. Coxe suffered scalp lacerations leg cuts and a punctured lung but was improving. Watkins and three passengers were only slightly injured and both cars were wrecked. Col Alexander Coxe father of the injured man arrived in Lawrence. No charges were filed.
