Sacramento California October 31 Former State Senator E J Emons of Kern county was convicted of receiving a bribe tied to a building and loan association and sentenced today to five years in prison by the executive committee of which he was a member. Oklahoma City October 31 A H Burnett a prominent grocery merchant died suddenly from heart failure. Kansas City October 31 W R Stubbs said United States district attorney O J Bo is certain of appointment as successor. The Commercial National Bank merged with State National Bank.
Ex Governor Andrew B. McGill died of heart disease in St Paul at age 65. Also note advertising for writing paper at Houghton's store at 10 cents per pound.
