A California Limited passenger train derailed near Kansas City resulting in thirteen deaths. Investigators probe the cause as officials pledge full safety reviews and aid for survivors.
A Kansas City bound express derailed in a cut near Sheffield Missouri after rails spread in heavy rain. Thirteen died and many were hurt, with survivors aiding victims amid wreckage. notable dead include Rudolph Richardson and Joseph Seymour. Coroner calls the death suspicious in the related Todd case.
In Hoston Massachusetts investigators identified the suitcase victim as Susan Geary of Cambridge a chorus girl. Police say they are making every effort to discover who was responsible for the death. In Pittsburgh Morris Wathan arrested for murder spent a restless night and nearly collapsed as he refused to talk.
New York city board of elections deadlocked two to two on placing William T. Jerome as the Republican district attorney nominee on the official city ballot. Democratic members voted against it while Republicans favored the action.

Saturday morning reports describe the killing of Mrs. Dante Francis and her baby by Mr. Fracels who then shot Mrs. Serogys connected with his wife in business. Fracels, a heavy drinker, laments his wife left him over a bad reason and regrets the separation as the motive for the shootings.
