Corn Loan Set at 45 Cents a Bushel by AAA Officials
Washington reports the 1935 crop corn loan set at 45 cents per bushel by AAA officials. Loans on No 3 grade corn, properly sealed and stored on farms, become effective December 1 and mature July 1, 1936. Chester C. Davis said RFC backs up to 150 million dollars to finance the loans. In Bates county a 40 family town buzzed as Willard De Haven storekeeper and Ruth Sundquist a telephone operator eloped with De Haven's three youngest children and Sundquist's son. Discovery of a Graveyard of Prehistoric Animals
Wichita Falls geologist Herman Fonville announced a graveyard of pleistocene animals found 20 miles west of Seymour in a gravel bed on the Wichita and Brazos rivers divide. The site yielded seven elephants, a complete pleistocene bear skeleton, a bison, horse limb bones, and two glyptodons, dating about 500 009 years old.
