Tonight is the deadline for Lawrence residents to register for the November 6 general election. City Hall stays open until 10 pm for late registrations and residents can call the city clerk to confirm registration. Thursday saw a registration peak with 339 new names, bringing four day totals toward an all time high. Next Thursday is the deadline for sick and disabled voter ballot applications, obtainable at the county clerk’s office in the Courthouse. Paleontologists report discovery of fire tusks skull and other mastodon bones found Thursday by James Nash near Sunflower Kansas beside the Kaw River.
