Miss Goldie Gimple of Mankato and John Beene wed at noon on Saturday October 23. Beene, a former AEF sergeant and Kansas native, trains in government programs while studying at the School of Fine Arts. they will reside in Lawrence until education concludes.
Personal J Hammig traveled to Kansas City on business. Roy Watkins returned from a few days at his home in Kansas City. Claude Benson withdrew from K U and went home to Bonner Springs. Miss Ethel Martin returned to Kansas City after a weekend with friends. Mrs Harry Richards and two children visited from Kansas City to spend Sunday with Mrs Fred G Fisher. B W Herod, formerly with Hall Brothers in Lawrence, visited old friends on his way home.

He will discuss Japanese ambitions and American honor and may touch on the Shantung crisis. Classes will be shortened for a 10 45 open hour prior to the address. Also in town, Harry Yost arranges for Hitchy Koo at Bowersock Theatre Monday night.
A North Lawrence meeting to discuss the proposed viaduct will be held Thursday night at the White school house. The gathering starts at 7 30, and residents of the north side are urged to attend to express their views.
