Lawrence man charged after stolen pickup chase with children inside
Joshua D. Smith, 35, of Lawrence, faced in Douglas County District Court multiple charges after a Sunday pursuit in a stolen pickup carrying three children. He is charged with three counts of aggravated child endangerment, theft of a pickup valued over 25 000, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The chase began when officers attempted a stop on Industrial Lane, leading to a long distance pursuit onto I 70 and KS 7 before a brief foot chase and arrest.
