Douglas County property owners will receive about 15000 from the state highway commission as refunds or benefit district taxes paid in 1926 or earlier on U S highway 46. 825 claims were signed at the county courthouse during C B Eddy's two week stay as refund auditor. About 275 are new with the rest old claims. Eddy closed his books leaving around 100 new claims unsigned. any claimant can sign up in Topeka or request blanks from the highway commission office in the Masonic Temple Topeka. Checks will be issued about 30 days after signing. Arkansas City set a new 1932 registration high with 7560 registered. McDermott, a Topeka fed circuit judge and friend of Gov Landon, joined the Landon campaign train in Oklahoma City and traveled to Indianapolis.

KU student president injured in car rollover near Silver Lake

Kansas fans ride special train to Kansas State game
Nearly 300 University of Kansas football fans boarded Union Pacific’s special train to Manhattan for the Ki sas Kansas State game. The train left at 7:20 PM and returns to Lawrence around 7:30 PM. The KU band practiced during the wait and a pep rally was planned after arrival. Every member of the varsity squad made the trip, including Waderepn who has a sprained ankle but rode along. Kansas City fans joined the Lawrence group for the trip.
