Federal funds at risk for Kansas Larned State Hospital
The federal CMS warns Larned State Hospital in western Kansas must fix safety and care deficiencies within a month or lose funding, with renovations expected to cost about 1 million dollars to reduce hangings and self harm risks. The August survey cited patient abuse and unsecured cabinets among issues, while Osawatomie remains decertified since 2015 and under recertification review.
