Teacher Corps Seeks Parent Participation in KU Program
The federally funded two year Teacher Corps program at KU involves 31 students working with Pinckney and East Heights in Lawrence and with Kansas City schools. Participants combine classroom teaching with courses and community activities, but parent involvement remains limited. Interns run after school programs, plan monthly community activities, and aim to boost advisory support from parents and local residents.
