Motorcycle Rider Killed in I 35 Crash in Kansas City
Police reported 26 year old William F Naginger of Claycomo Missouri died when his motorcycle struck the rear of a two ton trash truck on Interstate 35 in the east 4300 block. The death marked the 70th traffic fatality of the year in Kansas City, up from 59 at this time last year.

UAW Sets Vote on End of GM Walkout
The United Auto Workers schedule a Sunday membership vote to decide on ratifying the national GM agreement and ending the 28 day strike that has idled over 300 000 workers. UAW President Walter Reuther and GM department chief Leonard Woodcock said the GM Council will meet in Detroit Friday to recommend ratification or rejection. Chester Woodrum a 45 year old Ottawa man suffered a compound fracture of his leg when tubing slipped from a truck at an oil well site three miles northwest of Linwood. Wichita AP report shows Kansas Turnpike traffic up 7.33 percent in the first three quarters of 1964 with 4,576,922 vehicles. Commercial vehicles rose 9.6 percent to 629,427 and passenger vehicles to 3,947,495, while miles driven increased by 20,000,000 and the accident rate stayed nearly the same.

Car Kills a Deer on Turnpike Near Bonner Springs
A Lawrence couple escaped injury when their westbound car collided with a deer herd about three miles east of the Bonner Springs interchange on the Turnpike at 10 30 p m.
