Coffeyville Pilot Escapes Death In Parachute Mishap

A Thursday traffic tally by the county engineer shows Highway 40 west of Lawrence and east of Lawrence along with nearby routes recording the heaviest movement. The day’s totals include 201 cars at one station with 74 trucks 8 horse drawn vehicles and 95 foreign cars. Peak hour was 3 to 4 PM with 92 vehicles. Other stations logged substantial counts including 439 on Highway 10 and a broader day total of 1458 on Highway 40 with peak hour 4 to 5 PM.
