Kansas Aggies Defeat Kansas 13 to 2 in Mt Oread Clash

Kansas State Agricultural College defeated Kansas 13 to 2 in a tense 25th meeting at Memorial Stadium. The Aggies led 2-0 after a safety, then Holmesinger ran 25 yards for a second quarter touchdown, with Tackwell adding the point after. Kansas managed a late drive but could not overcome the deficit as the Aggies held on for the win.

Paris Sinks Norwegian Freighter in New York Harbor Collision

The French liner Paris rammed and sank the Norwegian freighter Besseggen at 1 30 am in New York Bay. At least seven crewmen are feared lost, with twenty four survivors rescued by ferry boats, police craft, and the Paris lifeboats despite all lifeboats being thrown overboard.

Sam Pickard Named to Federal Radio Board

Sam Pickard of Manhattan Kansas was appointed by President Coolidge as a member of the Federal Radio Commission to succeed Henry A Bellows who resigns November 1. Pickard had been director of radio for the Agriculture Department and headed KSAC at Kansas State Agricultural College. He was a KU student 1915 1916 and editor of a daily at Aurora Missouri before WWI service.

Nineteen Die As Interurban Crash Kills Many

A wreck in Indianapolis last night involving an automobile trailer carrying a Mystic Order of Veiled Prophets event and an interurban car left seventeen dead, with four more seriously hurt. Girls' team to Memphis to represent four clubs of state

Four Kansas girls from Lone Elm form the state championship 4-E cattle judging and dairy demonstration team and depart for Memphis to compete in national contests. State Poultry Meeting to Convene in Lawrence

A state meeting of the American Poultry Association will be held in Lawrence on Thursday November 17 in connection with the Kaw Valley Poultry Improvement shows at the Armoury November 15 to 18. Mostly fair weather with nearly normal temperatures across the southern Rocky Mountain region and plateau area. A. E. Huddleston’s final annual report shows disbursements of 1,668,251.51 and 120,415.52 on hand as he turns over to J. Metsker. Total receipts of 1,788,667.08 include 249,190.96 on hand at start. Major payments cover school districts, city treasurers, state drafts, township funds, bonds, and taxes totaling 1,180,279.59 in 1926 taxes plus 73,318.00 auto fees and other items. McGrew Divorce Case Appeals to Kansas Supreme Court

Mrs McGrew appeals to the Kansas Supreme Court after Wyandotte County court denied an injunction against her divorced husband Joseph E McGrew. She seeks to stop remarriage while he has paid 3875 in allegedly overdue alimony. The couple, divorced four years ago, faced a temporary restraining order delaying any remarriage.
