Federal agents search the west and south for an Arizona ex convict believed to be Vaughn's slayer who left Albuquerque with Vaughn August 2. Three Trainmen Killed in Wisconsin Freight Explosion
The boiler of a Chicago Milwaukee and St. Paul freight locomotive exploded four miles north west of Elgin at 4:20 p.m. killing the engineer, fireman, and shackerman.
