Grantville Man Remains Serious After Crash Near Edwardsville

Richard Beems 33 of Grantville remained in serious condition at Providence Hospital today with little change since Friday. The crash on K-32 near Edwardsville left Samuel T. Crawford 35 of Lawrence dead, along with Ronald Lee Cook 18 of Clay Center. Crawford, born in Cedarville Kansas, was a Navy WWII veteran and long-time Highway Commission engineer. Survivors include wife Alma Crawford, three children, parents, a sister, and several siblings. Funeral arrangements are handled by Baird Funeral Home in Sedan.
