Lawrence High Student Alan Milroy Found Dead in Garage
Lawrence High School senior Alan Douglas Milroy, 17, was found dead Sunday in a garage rented by his family from 191 N. H. St. Police said he apparently hanged himself, with no note left. Milroy, a two year LHS track letterman and probable basketball starter, left home about 2 p.m. after watching TV. His father Dean Milroy discovered the body about 7:30 p.m. A ladder and two ropes were found at the scene. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Rumsey Funeral Home. He is survived by parents, a brother Michael Dean Milroy at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, grandfather Raymond Milroy of Beaver Falls, Pa., and grandmother Mrs. Irving Rippey of Topeka. Milroy was described as a good student and Hi-Y member.

Reiner Leads Five Antelope Hunt in Wyoming Trip
Don Reiner and four Ottawa men hunted in Medicine Bow Wyoming. They returned with five antelope and one deer. Horns measured 122 inches. Wyoming licenses cost 25 for antelope and 20 for deer. Season runs Sept 15 to Oct 15 with 13 antelope areas. Reiner plans to hunt again next year.

Fire in McCollum Hall Causes $5000 Damage at KU

LHS Debaters Win Second in Pittsburg Tournament

State Boy Dies During Broken Arm Surgery
A nine year old Newton Kansas boy Thomas Edgar Hutton died in surgery Saturday night while doctors treated his broken arm. He was the son of Mr and Mrs John A Hutton of Newton and grandson of Edgar C Bennett an insurance executive and former judge. The arm broke while he played with other children in a neighbor's yard. Cause of death was not announced.
