The Harmonizer of Number Six Kansas School
Long Ride on Trial age who took the claim cornering on the present school ground improved it and named it Spring Hill because of the wonderful spring thereon that has never ceased to run to this day. Mr. Savage's wife died and he brought Mary Burgess to Kansas in 1863. Aunt Mary Ella Bond and Uncle Joe hosted governors, professors, and neighbors. Number Six rose amid district strife as Joe spoke at meetings and residents remembered the hospitality and cultural gatherings. The legacy includes plays, lectures, and a troop of notable locals, all guided by Savage’s peaceable influence and the motto Nothing too good for Number Six.
