Davidson shot and killed his wife and attempted to kill his 21 year old son. The son reportedly died and another was fatally injured. The murderer fled. Also Captain Stoner of the schooner J C Woodruff suffered foot amputation after striking the yard engine at Fort Gratiot Grand Trunk yards.
