Santa Fe Freight Derails After Truck Collision Near Valley Falls
Seven cars of an eastbound Santa Fe freight derailed in a crossing collision with a truck north of Valley Falls. Truck driver Bennie Taylor of Everest Kansas survived minor injuries and was treated at Winchester hospital. Patsy Evans, a Miami resident who claimed to be 123, died Monday. Born on a Jefferson Georgia plantation, she moved to Miami 40 years ago after her husband died. She said she turned 83 then and had 19 children, four of whom outlived her. She lived a frugal life, never drank, but used snuff and smoked a cigar occasionally.

Swiss officials confirm that French film star Brigitte Bardot and German magnate Gunther Sachs obtained a secret divorce in Lenzerheide four months ago.
