Democrats ramp up election monitoring in Kansas
Kansas Democrats plan a large Election Day effort with lawyers and volunteers to ensure all eligible voters, including those using the federal registration form without proof of citizenship, can cast ballots. Former Rep. Paul Davis, a volunteer attorney, says the push aims to safeguard voting rights amid lawsuits over Kris Kobach’s 2011 proof of citizenship requirement. The federal forms and DMV registrations are now reportedly eligible for all races per recent court orders, affecting about 18,000 registrations in the Kansas City district.
