Spencer Museum of Art unveils major renovation on campus
Spencer Mississippi Street houses renovations that open the museum to the university and community. Director Saralyn Reece Hardy says the aim is a welcoming space where art and campus life intersect. The revamped teaching gallery and print room feature larger, brighter, accessible rooms with flexible display spaces and a new Goddard Study Center. The project, funded by private donors, cost nearly 8 million dollars and touched about 30,000 square feet with design by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners and local builders Sabatini & Associates and Mar Lan Construction.
