William A. Smith, attorney general, directs county attorneys in Sedewick Atchison Leavenworth Nearho Crawford Cherokee Montgomery and Lithbette to seize slot machines in their jurisdictions. Andrew J White state representative from Atchison county was in a St Joseph hospital today with serious injuries after being struck by a motor car seven miles west of here. He was walking with a bucket of water when hit by Bo J Lohmuller of Centralia who was allowed to continue driving. White, slightly deaf, was knocked unconscious. Sheriff William Cape main investigated. White's wife and daughter Leaf accompanied Lohmuller’s party.
Senators Capper and Allen towed Hoover candidate Charles C. Eberhardt to a key Nicaragua post. Eberhardt, a Salvia native, has 27 years in the diplomatic service and is seen as qualified for a more important assignment amid expected Latin American service changes. The talks hint at a future senior Latin American appointment.
In St Joseph Missouri on November 26 a jury fined J Behmer 363 dollars over claims he sold horse meat to a chili manufacturer.
