A negro chauffeur in a Dallas area crash drove a car into a railroad car, killing five women and severely injuring the driver. Identified victims include Mrs. Charles Clark, Mrs. Grider of AL, Mrs. G. H. Bendera, Mrs. Polly King Adibut, and others from Fort Worth and Leonard. The car skidded on slick pavement, was dragged through a cattle guard, and demolished.

John Waldorf Missouri football captain shows marked improvement but remains hospitalized with a leg infection in Columbia. Physicians report he may be unable to play Saturday against Kansas. he left bed briefly and will stay in hospital tonight while the Tiger squad may depart Friday if his condition allows.
Donald D Baldridge 21 sues for 30190 damages claiming injuries from an incident on a street in Ottawa Kansas. The complaint names the Farprey defendant and references US tax obligations and local parties.

Norte Alaska Nov 21 AP dispatch says a dog team sent to rescue Pilot Carl Ben Fielson from the icebound Nanuk is expected to reach the area where he was last seen. Olaf Swenson aboard Nanuk relayed the Nome Nugget's plan as Dorbandt aims to reconnoiter near the sighting by natives.
Severe fighting between loyal nationalist troops and the Kuomintang rebellion continues with no decisive victory. The Kuomintang forces have captured Siangyang in Hupeh and push toward Hankow. Meanwhile, the Canton front sees the Iron Sides regiment seize Kwangsi as other disaffected troops join, threatening Canton. Governor Chen Ming Shu of Canton reportedly asked Nanking for aid, while Chiang Kai-shek cannot spare troops without risking Hankow.
District Court recessed until Monday after Judge Hugh Means presided. Jurors awarded Miss Mary Fowler $233.30 in her suit against B D Hammill et al for a hospital bill. Defendants contested the bill as excessive. Attorneys Riling and Riling proved Fowler’s fairness to the jury. Next case involves Manske and Bartling Inc against Glen Carter. A train bearing beds of James W Goad arrived at 2 43 today. The late secretary will be buried tomorrow.
Delegates from Douglas and Johnson counties pressed for fund inclusion in the 1980 budget to finish paving K-10 and K-20. At Topeka a conference with state highway officials and county commissioners led X. J. Kennedy to say a resolution to study the K-10 matter was passed and may be funded. Attendees included F. E. Trueblood and L. Scntt of the Chamber of Commerce. The group noted about 1 mile of grade remains and urged completion to improve access for traffic to the Kansas Missouri football game, with K-10 praised for linking Kansas City and Douglas county towns.
Elementary pupils from several grades will perform a vocal concert Friday night in the Liberty Memorial High School auditorium. About 4,000 children are expected to participate for proceeds benefitting instrumental music funds. The program includes folk and classical songs by various grade groups with titles such as Roly Poly Caterpillar and The Wind Song.
Mabel Pina a 16 year old Indian girl and student at Haskell Institute won $562.20 in damages in district court before Judge Hugh Mouns. The automobile collision near Cherokee Oklahoma on July 26 1929 caused a brain concussion and the settlement was handled through the court since she is a minor.
Two St Louis men Herman Hillman and Jack Fellman were arrested by Officer Fred Vogler after Moehler reported his car stolen from 1341 Ohio Street. Police found the suspects headed out of town near Sixth Street and they were jailed after questioning at police headquarters.
