Windstorm in Washington Leaves 3 Dead and 250000 Powerless
A violent windstorm across Washington state killed three people and left more than a quarter of a million customers without power. Gusts reached 60 mph with a 137 mph peak at Mission Ridge. Avista and Puget Sound Energy reported large outages in Spokane and Western Washington, as trees toppled onto roads and homes. Emergency officials urged shelter in place while I-90 closed by dust storms and several crashes occurred.
